Descripción:The members of the  Research Group tGIS  Transport, Infrastructure and Territory (UCM Research Group Reference: 940077) have a broad experience in the study of metropolitan processes from the point of view of transport and mobility and their relations with the territory and urban economy. Moreover, the team accumulates a wealth of experience and expertise in quantitative techniques and in GIS analysis applied to the study of metropolitan areas. During the last years, the group has launched a new research line related to government investments and spillover effects of transport infrastructure. This is aimed at expanding the scope of research activity of the group towards a more integrated vision of the studied metropolitan processes, with particular interest in the role of public policy, socio-economic impact and territorial development. More specifically, members of the group have developed their research activity in five major research areas:   Mobility and its relations with the region, with a focus on metropolitan areas (the case of Madrid region). Network and accessibility analysis, developing and implementing accessibility indicators in the environment of GIS to evaluate Master Plans and actions in transport networks.   Transport economics, especially in the areas of road transport, and air transport liberalization.  Urban sprawl, economic activities and territorial development in the metropolitan urban fringe.   Public (State, regional, local) investments and spillover effects in the shaping of metropolitan peripheries (mainly in the Madrid metropolitan region).
